Pink Saltire has made it our mission to support Scotland’s LGBTI+ community in facing the challenges presented to us, whether prejudice or COVID-19, we are here doing what we set out to do.
So, it is our pleasure to introduce you to Pink Saltire Counselling for Fife, our new service which will make 1-2-1 mental health support and counselling available to LGBTQI+ Fifers, completely free.
The counsellors available are fully qualified, experienced and, importantly, also LGBTI+, so there will be no need to do all that extra work or have to worry about having who you are, your identity and/or sexuality, challenged or pathologized. All our counsellors are person-centred; this means they do not give advice or tell you what to do, they are there to listen and give you a safe welcoming space to connect with your strengths, resources and resilience through whatever challenges you are facing. We believe everyone has inherent worth and a right to professional support.
We appreciate the difficulties in accessing mental health services, the biggest step is reaching out, so we want to make it as simple as possible for you:
On filling out the form below, your details are passed onto our Wellbeing Co-ordinator, they will email inviting you to an information session, this is an informal chat to learn about you and make sure we can best support you. Our information sessions are also an opportunity for you to ask us any questions you may have and to ease any worries about moving forward. An information session can last between 30-40 minutes, but you may be asked to attend more than one session.
There is a high demand for mental health support at this time which means we expect a high demand for our services, so we may need to use a waiting list. We also understand how frustrating and unsettling this can feel but be assured as soon as someone becomes available, we will do what we can to connect you with the right support. We will also make information on other services available and offer support in accessing them; mental health support, groups, social outlets and specialist services.
If this sounds right for you, apply now by filling in the form below.
If you have any questions or queries about the service, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
