UK satellite broadcaster Sky has announced its support for The Hive LGBT+ Centre with a £2,000 donation!
The company, which employs more than 1,000 people at its Dunfermline contact centre, has provided funding for equipment at the new community hub, opening in Kirkcaldy soon.
Jordan McGhee (pictured left) said: “We are really proud to support The Hive LGBT+ Centre. We’ve worked with Pink Saltire on many initiatives and events over the years and we are over the moon to be in a position to support this great venue! Our LGBT+ @ Sky Network is committed to supporting local LGBT+ charities and initiatives like this and we can’t wait until The Hive is open and welcoming the local community.”
Jordan has been volunteering some of his spare time at The Hive, alongwith partner Scot, as the redevelopment of the former furniture store in Kirkcaldy nears completion.
Charity Trustee, Will Watters (pictured right), said:
“We’re really pleased to continue our longstanding relationship with Sky, who are major employers in the region and have always championed equality and diversity over the years. This funding will allow the charity to complete the Phase 1 plans for The Hive, which offers a new facility for LGBT+ people in Fife. We thank everyone in the LGBT+ @ Sky Network for their incredible support and for their ongoing commitment to the community.”
The Hive are now recruiting Trustees for their first Board, with applications open until Friday 14th January 2022. If you’re interested, read over the Recruitment Pack here https://pinksaltire.com/…/12/Hive-Trustee-Recruitment.pdf
