Pink Saltire are supporting the development of Fife’s first LGBT+ Centre and we’re now looking for volunteer Trustees to help shape the future of the venue!
The Hive LGBT+ Centre is an ambitious new venue based in Kirkcaldy which will create a dedicated safe space for LGBT+ folk in the Kingdom.
With the organisation awarded charity status in November ’21, the time has now come to recruit Trustees to help shape the vision, facilities and programme at the new 10,000sq ft sober space.
Boasting a new community cafe, exhibition space, an enterprise zone, recording studios, offices and meeting space in the first phase of the development, The Hive is another major step forward in securing equality for LGBT+ people in Fife. Pink Saltire previously partnered with Fife Centre for Equalities and other local organisations to help form Fife Pride, now in its 5th year.
So how do I apply?
Its simple really! The application process opened on Tuesday 21st December and is open until 5pm on Friday 14th January.

If you have skills in finance, administration, facilities management, strategic thinking or community development then this could be for you. The constitution for The Hive allows for up to 13 Trustees to be appointed, although the charity can operate with a minimum of 3.
You’ll also need to commit some time to attend quarterly Board meetings and any sub-committee’s which may be formed in the future. Overall, if you are passionate about the development of the LGBT+ community in Fife, you should get in touch!
