Pride Saltire, the new LGBT+ Pride event for East Lothian, has set a date, following a successful launch party at the weekend.
The 8th Pride event to confirm a date this year, organisers will be using the historical Cockenzie House & Gardens for their Pride on Saturday 4th August 2018.
A small team of dedicated volunteers put on a lively launch event at the same venue this weekend, testing out local support, with stall holders and entertainment including Nick Shane and the Edinburgh Gay Men’s Chorus.
Scene Radio were also broadcasting live from the event all day.
In a statement on the Pride Saltire Facebook page and commenting on the launch event, a spokesperson said,
“The community came together to share our day and those that came from far and wide, your being here made such a difference. We met so many new faces and the atmosphere was outstanding! From the bottom of our hearts….thank you!”
Pride Saltire joins the line-up for a record breaking year of LGBT Pride events, kicking off next month with Trans Pride Scotland in Edinburgh. There are also events planned for Fife, Perthshire, Grampian, Dundee, Dumfries and West Lothian as well as Glasgow and Edinburgh.
