Scotland’s national celebration of LGBT young people is being held on Friday 23rd February 2018 and people are being encouraged to get organised for this years event.
Schools, Colleges, Community Centres and other groups are being asked to showcase their local champions who do small but important things for others, in the new campaign this year – celebrating our ‘Everyday Hero’.
The annual event is held on the last Friday of February, which is also LGBT History Month around the world. Purple Friday is a high profile day to stand up against homophobia, biphobia and transphobia in Scotland and celebrate those working to challenge discrimination.
Last year the theme was #PurpleHero which saw politicians from all parties at Holyrood don their superhero masks on the steps of the Scottish Parliament!
