A new training centre for HIV and sexual health issues has been launch by Terence Higgins Trust Scotland.
‘Learning Centre Scotland’ will be based in Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow as a base for organisations and individuals to improve their awareness and learn techniques to support those living with HIV or other sexual health matters.
Offering “affordable, information and accessible” courses with the expert and knowledge of THT staff, the Centre has a number of places available for events this Autumn.
“HIV Awareness Training” is available on 11th & 26th October and 22nd November. The course will help you learn how HIV transmission can be prevented as well understanding the needs of people living with HIV. The one-day course costs £72 (or £60 for charities).
“Women and HIV” is being held on 1st November. The course will consider HIV prevalence amongst women and look at solutions to support high risk groups. The cost is £54 (or £42 for charities).
“Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)” will be held on 16th & 17th November. The 2-day workshop will provide suicide first aid awareness and also help people understand how to recognise someone at risk. The cost is £80 (or £60 for students).
